NOT INTERESTED IN: I usually avoid straight-up crack, especially with a character from a modern, "real life" sort of canon like Broadchurch. Please note, Hardy's canon is a dark, heavy crime drama that deals with all sorts of triggery subjects, such as child abuse/murder, PTSD and rape. I'll warn appropriately if I think this stuff will come up in threads.

VISUAL: Tall, skinny, and beardy. Also tired. The bags under his eyes are designer.
AURAL: Scottish. Like, really Scottish. There's no joke here, he just has a thick Scottish accent.
OLFACTORY: Uh... probably just soap. He keeps himself clean, but doesn't go in for anything with a strong scent.
DEMEANOUR: Awkward in most social situations, in mixed company he sometimes takes on a hunched, almost defensive demeanor. In his capacity as a police officer, he's usually most comfortable, and has a more confident demeanor when interviewing witnesses, questioning suspects, or on the trail of a new lead. Gets short of breath easily.
